The Instructional/Student Services Building serves as a gateway to the existing small rural campus. The building sits on a hill which encloses and overlooks the north boundary of a campus mall. The opposite street facing entrance is the point of access to the campus. Here, the building’s L-shaped configuration creates a two-sided open area flanked by the single story 6,200 SF conference center and pre-function Space on one side and the two-story Student Service and Classroom wing on the other.

In addition to serving the campus needs as a Student Service Center, the objective was to create a gathering space for the community in the conference center. The two story lobby and adjacent pre-function space include a cherry wood ceiling and reception desk element and a circular elevator enclosure. Red yellow and blue accent elements are integrated with the porcelain tile patterned floor.

The Student Service Building strives to unify the existing campus by incorporating architectural elements from the existing two story vernacular style buildings including a metal roof and brick exterior.
