Florida Hospital Orlando Tower wins Gold Brick Award of Excellence from Downtown Orlando Partnership

Orlando— HuntonBrady Architects, an Orlando-based architecture, interior design and planning firm, was awarded the 2009 Award of Excellence – Gold Brick Award from the Downtown Orlando Partnership for the design of Florida Hospital Orlando Patient Tower & Cardiovascular Institute.

Led by President & Healthcare Design Principal, Chuck Cole, AIA, the 62-year-old Orlando firm collaborated with Florida Hospital to design an iconic building that would serve as a sanctuary of healing and anchor the hospital’s downtown medical campus. Memorable public spaces were created throughout the 15-story building including a lakeside café, chapel and conference center. The first and second levels house the Cardiovascular Institute. The ground floor contains an emergency center designed to see more than 75,000 patients annually.

The Gold Brick Awards acknowledge projects which affect the Downtown Development District and contribute significantly to its quality of life making Downtown Orlando a more exciting, interesting and desirable place to work, shop and live.
