Growing Congregation Fills Parrish Life Center at Holy Family Catholic Church
Apopka— A growing congregation is fast filling the halls of a new Parish Life Center at Holy Family Catholic Church in Windermere. The new facility was designed by HuntonBrady Architects of Orlando, a leader in religious design throughout Central Florida.
The 56,000 sf , two-story social hall and youth center is a large addition to the church’s existing campus. It provides a link to the existing sanctuary, which was also expanded during construction. The new Parish Life Center has seating for 1200 on the bottom floor, with a new social gathering area, kitchen, office space, child care rooms and library. The second floor serves as an Upper Room for Youth, with flexible/expanding activity space for programs.
A performance stage and theatrical lighting and acoustics allow the building to serve as a theatre and concert arena for artists from across the U.S. The Parish Life Center has already held a number of concerts for the community with capacity crowds attending.
The building is composed of tilt-wall concrete panels and its architectural design with exposed, heavy timber beams complements the existing campus buildings.
The church is located on South Apopka Vineland Road. Brasfield & Gorrie was the general contractor.
