HuntonBrady Architects Designs A Major Religious Facility for Training Church Leaders

The building is named after Bill and Vonette Bright, evangelical Christians and founders of Orlando-based Campus Crusade for Christ, one of the world’s largest ministries. The new Center will also be the new meeting place for Cross Pointe Church, a Lake Nona-based community church.
Developed on 33 wooded acres on Moss Park Road, HuntonBrady’s design for this new 56,000 square feet building includes training spaces for conferences and worship, as well as offices, nursery rooms, classrooms, a dining hall, bookstore, music practice room and prayer room. The Multipurpose Room seats up to 1,000 participants for a conference or worship service and can be subdivided into 5 separate rooms to accommodate smaller groups.
The facility is designed to provide views of an adjacent nature preserve which serves as the focal point for important spaces such as the prayer room, the board room, the dining area and the children’s playground and classrooms.
“The Prayer Room is the heart of the facility and the circular design reflects the global connectivity of Churches and communities that Vision 360 holds as one of their core values,” said project architect Thomas Hagood, AIA, of HuntonBrady Architects.
The team was mindful of sustainability and incorporated energy-efficient elements throughout the building, including:
- High performance insulated glass to reduce heat gain
- A reflective roof to reduce heat island effect
- Interior finishes from green product lines with low volatile organic compounds (VOC)
- Exterior aluminum sun shades to reduce heat gain
