Seminole State College Sanford/Lake Mary Campus To Receive Modern Makeover from HuntonBrady Architects

Orlando— HuntonBrady Architects, an Orlando-based architecture and interior design firm, is renovating an aging building and exterior atrium at Seminole State College Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. When finished, students and faculty will barely recognize Building L and will have a totally modern building for fall semester 2011.

Slated for both exterior and interior renovation, Building L will include new classrooms and multiple student lounge and gathering areas.   The exterior of the building will be clad with a new glass curtainwall . The exterior atrium will be totally revamped and modernized.  A number of sustainable features will help the facility gain Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design status with the U.S. Green Building Council, such as using reclaimed water for irrigation and energy efficient design. The renovated building will be an outstanding model of flexibility and sustainability, and will provide a modern collegiate environment for students and faculty.

HuntonBrady’s educational facility designs also include University of Central Florida School of Medicine, Valencia Community College Culinary Arts & Conference Center, and other projects for Central Florida Community College, Pasco Hernando Community College and Hillsborough Community College. It is an award-winning architecture and interior design firm that provides services to public and private clients, including healthcare, education, commercial office, religious and municipal projects. Founded in 1947, the firm has won over 55 American institute of Architects design awards.
