The Water School

HuntonBrady served as the design architect on the new, 116,438 SF water school (academic building 9) at Florida Gulf Coast University. Predominantly a teaching/research facility, The water school was designed for short and long-term flexibility in order to accommodate changing academic programs throughout the life of the building. Currently, the main focus of the water school is marine and environmental sciences. Project components include administrative and faculty offices, classrooms, a 125-seat tiered auditorium, 350-seat multipurpose classroom, open study areas, instructional media, teaching labs, research labs, and applied research labs.
